The Very Very First Post

I read lots of blogs.  I like knowing how other people think, what kinds of things they like and what goes on in their lives.  I think its helpful to see people going through situations similar to mine, and it makes me feel good to know I'm not the only one experiencing these things.

Consequentially, I was really excited to find out that this class was primarily about blogging.  I wanted to start a blog for a long time.  I think writing is cathartic and therapeutic, regardless of whether or not other people are reading what I say.

Since I am still young and figuring out what I want to do with myself as an adult, I am hoping this blog will act as a kind of journal for me, as well as a place where I can sort out my feelings and thoughts and things I've done and everything like that.

So here's a little about me:

I grew up in Rochester, New York, right on Lake Ontario.  I love Rochester and I'm proud to be from there.

Despite what a lot of people say about going to college, I am still very close friends with my friends from high school.  I talk to them regularly and we always make plans when we come home.  Part of the reason for this is that I have been dating my boyfriend, Andrew, for almost 3 years and we have the same group of friends.  So I guess as long as me and Andrew are together, our group of friends will stay together.

My boyfriend's name is Andrew and we have been dating since my senior year in high school, his freshman year in college.  He goes to Canisius College in Buffalo.  Its really hard sometimes to be far away for so long, but we make it work and I'm really happy to have him in my life.  He is also graduating this spring. AHH.

I also am really close with my family.  I have one little younger sister, Bridget, who is my best friend.  The older we get, the closer we get and I really love having her in my life.

I also have two dogs that I am obsessed with.  Sophie, the dachshund and Gabby, the beagle.  Everyone should have a dog. Period.

At Fordham I live in an apartment with 4 other girls. (For now---we're expecting another any day now...) I'm closest with my immediate roommate and one other girl :)

PS: I also figure I should explain the name of my blog.  My last name is Odorczyk, pronounced "o-door-zick" which sounds very similar to "door six" get it?? :)
